Review: The Bridal Coach DVD Set by Tilly Whim

Tilly Whim talks about some of the disasters that can happen at weddings when they are approached in the wrong state of mind - and how The Bridal Coach DVD Set could have made all the difference to a friend's wedding.
The Bridal Coach DVD set
A little while ago a friend told me about a wedding that went wrong from start to finish.

The bride was so nervous that she was shouting at her relatives in the build-up to the wedding because she was under so much stress.  It all started with the bridesmaids' dresses.

The bride, with all the best intentions of wanting to put on a "great show" and always being something of a perfectionist, sent a dressmaker out to India to buy silks for her bridesmaids' dresses.  She thus requested the measurements of the bridesmaids from the mothers of each.  One of the mothers, a hardworking woman, was simply not able to get the measurements sorted in the time that she was asked to, meaning that the buyer was out in India and unsure what measurements of fabric to buy.

This led to the bride-to-be completely losing it, and swearing her head off down the phone at the mother.  The mother, in return, did get the measurements sorted, but refused to attend.  She was also a professional make-up artist who had previously said she would make the bridesmaids and the bride up.  After the bride's rudeness, she also refused to give advice on the make-up.

...These attempts at levity did not help matters...

There were other problems along the way.  The bride was always a bit of a control freak, and those tendencies came to a head before the wedding.  The night of the rehearsal, the best man and the bride's father decided to inject a bit of humour into what had become a frosty atmosphere.  The father thus walked down the aisle with his daughter at the rehearsal humming Mendelssohn's Funeral March.  And the best man, when it came to delivering his reading, switched the Elizabeth Barrett Browning poem for Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky.

These attempts at levity did not help matters.  The bridesmaid rounded on her father later that evening and spoke to him so rudely that he went out for a walk in his shirt sleeves in the pouring rain and wandered around for 3 hours, deeply offended and doing his best to calm himself down.

And so the wedding went on.  It did eventually go fairly smoothly, but the reason for it was really all the wrong one.  The guests were terrified of offending the aggressively neurotic bride.  The bride even went so far as to pen the father's speech "in case he embarrassed me..."

Remembering tales of this stressful wedding, I was taken by the idea of The Bridal Coach as soon as I saw it. It struck me that the bride at the wedding I had heard about had taken it on herself to decide to control everyone there, except for one important person: herself.

Had she learned to be more easy-going, more relaxed and more able to roll with the problems that presented themselves to her, the wedding day would have been so much more fun for everyone concerned.

And while the story that I've outlined above is somewhat extreme and isn't true of all weddings, still there is a mindset that causes people to worry and really not get the best out of their big day, that Bridal Coach really addresses.

Michele Paradise - The Bridal Coach

Michele Paradise - The Bridal Coach

What Michele Paradise teaches people in her 4 DVD box-set is how to really enjoy your wedding.  She gives the watcher the tools they need to master a "relaxed preparedness" that will benefit every bride.

But this DVD set isn't only about the "mind-stuff".  It gives clear coaching advice on every aspect of the wedding day.  For example, how to choose the right dress for your body shape, how to walk in high heels, how to choose the right shoes for you, and how to maintain a swan-like elegance at the same time as doing away with nerves.  And that's not all.  Michele works with a group of genuine brides-to-be, addressing their questions and helping them to really enjoy their special day.

There are other skills she teaches, such as how to pose for your wedding photographs so that when you look back on them in years to come, they bring back all the right feelings and memories.  And she teaches you how to make sure that you get your hair and make-up right and how to make the whole wedding day not only fun for the bride, but fun for all.

Michele takes her brides through these skills with the sensitivity of a real friend.  It's no surprise, then, to discover that she is an expert in coaching brides on presentation who charges large sums for the wisdom she imparts in this fabulous box set.

If you are about to get married and are troubled with nerves, or if you know someone who would love a little bit of friendly advice from someone who is not only a top NLP trainer, but was also a fashion model, and thus knows how to move and behave with style and confidence, then The Bridal Coach should be on the top of your list for a gift.

It might just make their wedding day!
