One of the things I love about shows like X Factor is the way they show ordinary people with extraordinary talents. That guy who looks like the man you pass on the way to work is an amazing singer. The woman who reminds you of your sister can touch peoples’ hearts with her voice.
Inspiring stuff. And it makes me think of how lucky I am to see the delegates turn up on courses we put on with Richard Bandler, John and Kathleen LaValle. They’re like the panel of judges, seeing potential in people who’ve maybe never really expressed it fully.
And like the contestants on X Factor, our trainers – and the team supporting them – work with people to bring out the very best in them. That can become the new version of who they are, that they acknowledge to themselves and want others to know.
The best of us is always there. And sometimes we need others to help us find it. Whether it’s issues with confidence, a phobia about performance, inhibiting beliefs about success, many people are hampered by debris from the past that can be dealt with easier and more quickly than you can imagine.
The distance between the person you think you are and the person you know you can be is precisely as much as you imagine it to be – because that distance is a product of your imagination. Only, you’ve got so used to it you mistake it for your true self.
We don’t all need to be under a spotlight.
But we all deserve a chance to shine.
And our trainings are one of the surest ways to make that happen in your life.
